Alice Laura Palmer

Alice’s practice integrates multidisciplinary methodologies, informed by her classical training at the Florence Academy of Art and her studies in Neuroscience.

Her practice exhibits a cross disciplinary, site-specific mentality with deep interest in connecting bodies of knowledge in unique patterns of overlap. Recently, her work engages painting, printmaking, sculpture and performance which informs her inquiry into shared cognitive frameworks and the construction of social realities.

As a classically trained painter, she produces painted works full time. Painting is an intrinsically human process, a function of understanding the external, floating world through the filters of nature- the eye, the mind, and the hand. No painting can be divorced entirely from the human, and this fact forms the basis of my work.

As an educator she is passionate about providing a comprehensive understanding for any level of art practice and theory.
